Weather has been the talk of the Irish, one group said this is the best weather all year, other's said they have not enjoyed this amount of warmth and sunshine in the last 20 years...and the forecast is for another 4 to 5 days of sun. We are truly blessed..PTL!
A local artist does impressionistic paintings of the local environment...and with the cliffs of moher next door, he has much to work with. The following painting hangs in our B and Bs dining room, sells for 2800 euros (over 4k in dollars) and is called the Swoop...we see it at every meal. Breakfasts are all included and we will have dinner here 3 out of our 4 nights only because they are closed on Monday(tonight). The duck confit was excellent..in Ireland? Yes!

The Roadford House is run by Marian and Frankie...she works the front room as Maitre 'D and Hostess while he does the cooking.

For the skeptics out there who truly believe Peggy is travelling alone...a view of me on the beach at the smallest of the Aran Islands...a 45 minute boat trip from Doolin, our main seaside town.

We had a lovely 3 hour walk around the Island and enjoyed splashing waves and rocks everywhere...rocks that we walked over, rocks that the waves played with as they splashed...

Rocks that made up every single small wall in every single square acre of the island. It was truly amazing...why did they build all of these rock walls?

Ann enjoyed her time at the beach as well, and was committed to touching the north east Atlantic..although as soon as she touched it she scampered out due to water temperature. She said it felt as cold or colder than Lake Tahoe.

To comfort her, Mr. Big comes along and makes her feel just fine!

On the same boat, after the Island excursion, they take you on a one hour cruise to and around the Cliffs of Moher. The views were spectacular...

We can't wait to watch The Princess Bride again and look for the specific location when they climbed these Cliffs of Insanity. They might also be called The Cliffs of Major Bird Poop.

Sweetie pie just can't keep from getting her face in my photos...

After the 6 hours of boating and walking and sunshine, what better way to refresh than at the town's most well known pub...Gus O'Connor is written up in Rick Steves and in Trip Advisor as well.

Dinner tonight, at a new restaurant since ours was closed on Mondays, also served some fine looking food...even though the actual taste didn't hold a candle to our b and b.
Confit:

Halibut:

Pork Tenderloin:

and of course..desserts...with real, homemade butterscotch!

Well, it's off to watch the sunset (around 9:30) and then for a 75 yard walk to the Pub for amazing fiddle music. I hope to get a picture of the band for Jim...we'll see if I remember after a Jameson and diet coke...:))) Day 8 was a great one...Love you all.
Jealous.
