Day 12: Driving to Donegal

Many towns have statues and memorials to Saints, but none so many as to St. Patrick! On our drive yesterday, this inscription on a statue to St. Patrick, in the middle of a roundabout in the center of a relatively non-descript town, caught my attention, and it is our mutual desire that as we consider the joys of this trip and the fellowship with Jesus and with each other that we have had...may He get all the glory!

Donegal is nearly a 4 hour drive from Clifden, yet along the way, we came across this well known maker of porcelain...Belleek. We went on a tour and thoroughly enjoyed the quality and intensity of their manufacturing procedures. It was easier to see why certain products, taking nearly 2 weeks to make, cost as much as they did. We were going to get each of you a token of our love, by buying some Belleek for your enjoyment, but to keep Danny in college, and us in "pints", we had to opt just for a few pictures to show you :)))
Individually sculpted flowerettes
Their baskets were amazingly detailed and beautiful...something like the one below, even though it measure about 6 inches in diameter, could cost over $500...

Finally arriving at our next B and B, the Rossmore Manor, we were very pleasantly surprised to see that it was located on a hill, with a beautiful view of an ocean bay, and had the look and feel of a small castle. The view from the sitting room:

And the little view from our bedroom:

We all slept well on this our 12th day...
