Day 13...Rest and Rejoice!

The dagger outside our room at the Rossmore Manor, like many of the knick knacks, didn't really tie in with any decor theme, unless the theme was eclectic medieval, Egyptian, Roman and Greek statuary tchatchki's, but it did remind me how much Dan loves weapons..and this one says vini, vidi, vici on the top half of the blade...and actually this is how we were all feeling. 2 weeks of sunshine; but the forecast for our last 5 days calls for 60% chance of rain...no problem since we will be staying in a true castle, and going to Dublin.

Our wonderful Sunday drive, while Jon and Ann enjoyed the manor allowed me and Peggy to herd some sheep with our car
and to hike the short path up to the top of the Sleave Leagues...the highest cliffs in Western Europe

Passing a true woolen mill we enjoyed talking politics and recession with the owner...We would have loved to buy some sweaters but at 70 euro each (or about $110), we decided to wait for Hanna Hats...a recommendation from Jim, and open at 8 am in Donegal Town. We will swing by here in the morning on our way to Leslie Castle.

At the western-most end of Donegal, facing the Atlantic, and dotted with Napoleon watch towers built in the early 1800s to keep an eye on if and when Napoleon would try to conquer the Island...which he never did. Good thing they also had this beautiful beach to do a little tanning while they waited.

The sun is setting over the Manor at this moment, and we are relaxing by the 62inch HD TV watching the British version of the Apprentice...and since we are on the edge of our chairs waiting for the results...I'll sign off and wish you all a blessed day!
